Adjusting Ecosystem Benefits

Ecosystem benefits are calculated using the i-Tree Streets software developed by the U.S. Forest Service. If you wish to use your own data to calculate the monetary value of different ecosystem benefits, you can make adjustments to the default settings through the management page.

Select "Manage" from the navigation bar at the top and then click on "Ecosystem Benefits" in the Administration menu on the left.

Click "Edit" in the top right. You have the option to change the currency symbol on your Tree Map at the top. You can then adjust the value of different factors, such $ per lb of VOC, $ per gallon of stormwater reduced, etc. When you are done, click "Save" in the top right.

International Tree Maps: i-Tree Streets is not recommended for use outside of the United States. If you are interested in using a different method of calculating ecosystem benefits please contact us at opentreemap@azavea.com.
